Unused since the article it was used in was deleted like 7 years ago. The link listed as source is now dead. The author couldn't possible have been dead over 100 years since it's from World War II. So not only is it unused here, it can't even be transferred to Commons since it doesn't have adequate source information to let us decide what tag is appropriate. How do we even know it's PD? File:Cline Avenue bridge collapse.jpg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by Lpangelrob (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).

Nonfree historical image being used to illustrate an incident in the history of Indiana State Road 912. It's quite obviously non-replaceable; we're not going to have any free images of the incident until this image's copyright expires. However, I question its significance: we can understand the article well enough without a picture of the incident, and its inclusion doesn't really help us understand the article any better. Note that the uploader's made exactly three edits since August 2010 and nothing since 2011. Nyttend (talk) 21:03, 17 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Violates WP:NFCC#10c: the specified purpose, "to illustrate the infobox", is not valid for images like this. Also violates WP:NFCC#8 as the image isn't critically discussed. Stefan2 (talk) 22:21, 17 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

File:Woody Allen - Kup.JPG (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by Light show (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).

Likely nonfree image of living person. No evidence that this image was ever published, and certainly none that it was published without a copyright notice. Sourced to an ebay listing; related listings strongly suggest this comes from a personal collection of photographs, not an archived of published images. Hullaballoo Wolfowitz (talk) 23:42, 17 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I now own the all rights to the photo. I had the seller include the following to their listing before I bought it, telling them that it would be mainly for Wikipedia.
"This photo was taken by Jerry Kupcinet. It does not have a copyright and the photographer gives all rights to the buyer to reuse this photo."
Assuming we can still use the photo, I can update the description box if you give me the OK. They also wrote in one of their emails that the photo was used on promotional materials in the the mid 1970s. --Light show (talk) 05:18, 18 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
    • Sorry, but I'm still dubious about this. This would be better handled via OTRS than in a discussion like this -- ownership of the copyright isn't clearly established in the ebay seller (and their "It does not have a copyright" isn't a well-informed statement); we've got no information about whether the reported publication carried a copyright notice, or just how it was used; and the "gives the buyer all rights to reuse" language may be closer to CC BY-ND, which isn't sufficient, than to CC BY-SA, which is the standard. Hullaballoo Wolfowitz (talk) 03:17, 21 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I contacted the photographer and expect they will email the OTRS to Commons in the next few days.--Light show (talk) 04:53, 21 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Note also that the photographer has no copyrights registered under his name. Even if a promotional flier with his photo was copyrighted, it would still not relate to or create a copyright for the photo, which requires its own "visual arts" copyright. --Light show (talk) 07:03, 23 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The CCA 3.0 permission was emailed to the Commons by the author a few hours ago. --Light show (talk) 03:01, 30 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
